Invest in innovation at all times. It’s what keeps brands at the top of the Fortune 500 list.
When times are tough…bean counters always cut creative first. This is death to a business. It may help balance the books in the short term…but it will severely hurt the future. Everyone knows that innovation takes years to cultivate into a marketable product offering. If you cut innovation this year, you’ll be creating “gaps” in product offerings…or, at the very least, hurting the quality of those offerings (Hello GM).
Success requires innovation and partnership in all aspects in the business model. Old school corporations keep departments segmented. Marketing thinks Design is silly. Accounting hates R&D. C levels don’t take the time to listen to Engineers or Manufacturing. This creates a corporation that ends up competing against each other rather than working together for the common good.
New school corporations do everything they can to integrate their talent. You never know what mix of people, skill sets and conversations will create the next great idea. Great corporations don’t insulate. They look for outside help to give them a fresh perspective…and they create opportunities to have young, passionate employees work alongside seasoned professionals. THIS is where true innovation happens.
Fuelhaus loves working with leadership brands. We know that it takes a lot of R&D to turn a spark to into the next marketable firestorm. If you’re dedicated to innovation…give us a freakin’ call. We’d love to help!
