Want to create a banner ad that builds your brand, sells your product and gives you killer click-through rates? Check out this banner ad from Pringles.
AdWeek reports that it won a gold Cyber Lions at Cannes last week…and it truly deserves the kudos. It is truly fresh. I have NEVER stayed on a banner ad more than a second…and I clicked this dang ad almost 50 times. Designed by Bridge Worldwide in Cincinnati …this ad takes banner ads beyond the expected garbage we usually see on the side of our web pages.
It’s fresh, engaging and ground-breaking work. A banner ad with personality! I now have renewed respect for Julius Pringles (Wikipedia says this is his official name). It’s been years of hard, painstaking work trying to give this guy with it’s audience (we know…we worked on the brand well over 15 years ago).

If you have a minute…check out the ad.
See how long you stay with it.

I’m always searching for the next great thing in brand design…and I truly believe the next ten years will be all about enhancing user experience. Here’s a nice sample of what I’m talking about.
This website does more than send you static information, or navigate you through a site, it uses web technology and video to actually pull you (the viewer) into the experience with them.
It’s kind of ironic that it has a silent movie type of feel…because I believe that this online “study” is very groundbreaking…like those first silent movies were. Short, entertaining, and completely changing our point-of-view. Am I being over dramatic? Only time will tell.

Great web design brands the company, performs a service and creates a killer user experience. The Dominos website does all three!
I hadn’t ordered pizza from Dominos in awhile, but when I did, I was fascinated by the real time “pizza tracker” showing you exactly where your order is in the process. (When it said it delivered…it did!). While you wait, you fill out silly polls and surveys. It is absolutely brilliant.

A website is much more than an online brochure…it is a primary way for your customers to experience your brand.
Dominos does a great job extending the brand as well. From the delivery driver to the messages on the pizza box (reasons for late delivery…alien abduction). This is one cool pizza place that knows it’s audience. I’m a member.
